Toddler Bed III

Welp, here it is in all it's glory! We LOVE it and think it turned out wonderfully. Our measurements were off a touch so the mattress is in pretty snug. In all, this project cost around 45 dollars and that includes the paint. We love our investment and we are certain it will last for future kids. We made sure to beef up the enforcements because we used pine (a rather soft wood) and I am glad we did because I can hear Colton jumping on the bed as I type this. Let me know what you think!

The Toddler Bed Part II

Here it is all finished! Now we just need to putty nail holes, sand, then paint. Hopefully we can get to that today so Colton can use it either tonight or tomorrow.

Toddler Bed

Colton needs a toddler bed so we can move Paxton out of the pac n' play into the crib. The toddler beds at WalMart cost 60$ and I don't love the way they look. I found this website and Parker is helping me build a toddler bed that I love. Here is the all the wood and the finished headboard. I had to have BMC (our local hardware store) cut the wood because we don't have a saw so it isn't as precise as we would like it. We hope to finish building and possibly putty the nail holes tonight. We are going to paint it white to match the rest of the furniture in the room.... I will update with our progress!

The Hair Cut

Paxton has needed a hair cut for some time and he finally got one today before church. He had a big patch of hair, right on the crown of his head, that was really long in comparison to the rest of his hair. It had to go so we buzzed it all short.

I dug through our photos and found Colton after his first hair cut. Here are their pictures in comparison. I believe they are the same age in these pictures, somewhere around 3 1/2 months.

Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'

Paxton just rolled over! His head and apparently his core strength are coming along at an accelerated pace now that he is healthy and has a bumbo chair. Hooray for a strong, healthy baby!

Healthy

Everyone is back to normal around here! Its been a while since I have posted because Colton dropped our camera and broke it leaving me without any pictures. So, excuse the quality of the ones below, they were taken on my phone.

Paxton is doing AMAZING! He is sleeping 12 hours solid at night, just waking up once or twice because he needs his binky. As you can see from the pictures below, he is on the big side. The last time he was weighed he tipped the scales at 17 pounds however, that was 3 weeks ago. I can only wonder how much he has gained since then! He is all smiles, loves to coo and thinks his big brother is the best for bringing him toys.

Colton is also doing FANTASTIC! He never ceases to amaze me. It's crazy how many words he understands, even though he can't say them. I feel like he learns several new words each day. Colton has more energy than I know what to do with, thank goodness it's warm enough to start going to the park! Colton's other big fascination is anything electronic. He can work the DVD player (not something I am proud of) computer, and any cell phone. He is a good, good boy..... now if we could only get passed the language barrier!

Colton ran out of stickers but wanted more.....so I used the outline of all the stickers as a sticker...... he wasn't that happy about it.

RSV

Little Paxton got diagnosed with RSV this afternoon. I am so bummed. The good news is he isn't sick enough to be in the hospital, the bad news is that could change within a matter of hours. The doctor said that if his breathing gets any worse, it's best to take him to the hospital where he can be monitored around the clock. For those of you who don't know, RSV is a respiratory illness that infects the lungs, making it extremely difficult to breathe. The doctor sent me home with a nebulizer and albuterol to start breathing treatments, hopefully those help. RSV generally lasts seven to fourteen days.... I am hoping for just seven.

Here is Paxton getting a breathing treatment.
My Little Sicklings

All of my boys are sick. Yes, all three! Colton came down with croup late last week and it has just passed on to both Paxton and Parker. Paxton is really taking a beating.... his little body is having a hard time with all the coughing, he keeps throwing up which makes me think it could be something other than just croup. It's really a crazy experience have two sick kids. I have NO IDEA how my mom managed having 4 or 5 kids with chicken pox all at the same time! We are headed to the doctor for Paxton this afternoon.... hopefully they can help him because he is miserable!

Booo

Colton was playing with our camera and while the lens was extended he dropped it... on the lens. Now, when we turn the camera on, the lens tries to come out but can't fully extend, the camera says "lens error" and immediately shuts off. Suggestions?
